489 SIM Series

The SIM Series combines proven water softening capabilities with the ability to remove ferrous iron and manganese.

The SIM is an effective and economical solution to water that is both hard and contaminated with iron.

As water passes through the SIM system it comes in contact with a bed of specialty ion exchange resin beads. The resin uses ion exchange to remove hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) along with any clear water iron. Additional iron is filtered in the garnet support bed. Over time the resin contains too many hardness and iron ions to effectively treat water so the iron and hardness ions are removed from the resin through a process called “regeneration”. After each regeneration the system is ready to begin removing hardness minerals and iron from your water again. Additional iron is removed by the Pro Res-Care solution provided with the system.

The SIM series uses industry leading technology to monitor your soft water use so it only regenerates when necessary, saving salt and water from being needlessly flushed down the drain.

The SIM is also specially designed for low pH (acidic) water applications.
